They are very soft and good for cleaning metal.

is good for removing rust and adjusting the bevels of the knife, they are quite soft and wear out quickly. But other than that they are pretty useful, wish something was a lot harder and wear out slower to be more useful for actually sharpening the knife although they work and the price is great.
