Review on ๐Ÿ”Š PERLESMITH Speaker Stands: Extendable 30-44 Inch with Cable Management - Holds 8lbs Satellite, Bookshelf & Bluetooth Speakers (Polk, JBL, Sony & Samsung) - 1 Pair by Johnny Bowen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great speaker stands! Much better than expected.

I bought 4 of these speaker stands to hold 4 (left and right front and back) for a Logitech Z906 surround sound system. Here is my personal rating of a few categories: Packaging, Condition, Shipping: 5/5 Speaker stands came 2 per pack in sturdy cardboard containers that can be reused and resealed with a front flap with pull tab. All materials were separate and well packed in their separate compartments. All screws/fasteners have been separated into bags with letter codes to identify them (similar to assembled furniture). Everything was delivered safe and sound. Build/Materials: 5/5 Very satisfied and surprised. I was expecting flimsy and flimsy plastic and metal as with other products, but was very pleased to find that the legs and base are made of thick and durable metal. The stand sections are threaded at the ends and screwed into a heavy/durable base. The base itself reminds me of a heavy cast-iron saucepan. Either rubber caps or threaded nails (both included in the scope of delivery) can be attached to the underside as required. These pedestals are stable and will not tip over easily. They stand straight and level and are well made. The extension at the top (for height adjustment) is stable and can be easily dismantled if necessary. Although not ideal, these helical tension rods generally work quite well. The finish is black, even and slightly rough, and only slightly reflective. Assembly and Instructions: 5/5 Instructions are simple and sufficient. They show different configurations for mounting and installing speakers. The pole consists of 2 main parts (the longer pole contains a telescopic extension that can be separated if necessary). Height adjustment is easy. Both rods are threaded and screw into each other and then into the base. The threads are well made and metal, unlike many posts (like those used in many rotary floor fans). The wire hide channel works very well. The wire goes through the slot at the top and exits the bottom of the pole. You can't even tell (unless you look closely) that there's even a wire. The hardware that comes with the stands works as advertised, is durable and allows for a variety of configurations, however there is no hardware for at least one common speaker configuration (and my speakers were). Many small satellite speakers, such as those supplied with the Logitech system, have a single threaded hole in the back for a mounting screw. Nothing I've seen in this set suits that. HOWEVER, I was able to use the threaded nails provided for the base of these speakers by inserting one end (the one with the nail) into the speaker (threaded to fit) and then using a threaded cap for the other end. (See for example the attached photo). This configuration seems to work fine. I suggest that the company include the hardware (threaded or double-threaded screw end caps) for these speakers. OVERVIEW: 5/5 I really like these speaker stands. They are well built, durable, attractive, small and economical. The height adjustment range is ideal for most applications. I highly recommend them.
