I needed something (other than an ugly pile of junk) to make it easier to work with a laptop and tablet while playing guitar. It's only a temporary situation, so I wanted something with an "ultra-low carbon footprint" — in other words, I didn't want to buy a $50 "desktop" riser made out of plastic and other junk materials that I'd hate to throw away. .. them for recycling when I'm done. .
