To replace the Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, I bought it 2.5 years ago. The primary objective was to switch from the outdated AGP 8x graphics port to the more recent PCI-E 16x. I primarily use my computer for gaming and Internet browsing; I don't enjoy overclocking or video editing. I can't say that I was surprised with the boost in productivity because I was primarily playing World of Warcraft at the time. An evolutionary move forward is not revolutionary, to put it another way. On the seller's recommendation, I purchased this processor, and I don't regret it. Older models are not excessively cheap. Comparable in terms of frequency, quad-cores only outperform dual-cores in a small number of tasks that I dislike, but they cost far more. As a result, I believe that the Core2Duo 8400 is among the best for me. I bought Starcraft 2 in 2022, but it turned out that Core2Duo does not support it. Team games are uncomfortable to play since the game badly slows down and freezes the image in large batches, but the same issue is seen in 1v1 combat with lots of units. A clear signal for an upgrade overall, however it wasn't strong enough. Purchasing this processor right now would not be financially advantageous at all because the Core i5 or AMD Phenom II X6 performs up to two times better than the outdated Core2Duo!
