See below for updated reviews. The first review of the first purchase was excellent. Our second purchase, not good at all. First review, first toy: Our green cheeked kennel is only a few weeks old so he hasn't gotten around to trying this rope toy yet. But I see that it is ideal for him in diameter and design. It seems very strong and at the same time malleable enough to take different shapes. Like it a lot! Update: 7 months later This toy has become our favorite toy. He used it to climb, hang upside down, chew, sit, preen and loved wrestling with the bell hanging underneath. We dangled the bell just inches off the bottom of his cage and he stood on his back under it, feet playing with the bell like a green-cheeked kennel. Our first lasted 7 months, then the rope started fraying and separating from the wire inside. We just replaced it with another one of the same brand and size that Obie loves too! The two days without this toy, having removed the first for safety reasons but not yet received the second, were sad days for our bird, who gazed longingly at the spot where his favorite rope once hung. Although our first purchase of this toy lasted 7 months, the second toy wore out after just over a month of use. It had to be removed as frayed rope can be fatal to a bird. It is covered with small loops that can hook and hang it around the leg. In just a few days, more and more wires were exposed. The photo shows that almost half of the wire is bare and frayed cables are visible. I don't understand the difference in quality between our first purchase and this one. I am very disappointed, as is our bird.
