I have some handmade silver jewelry. I can't use most other silver cleaners because of the stones that go into the pieces. I read the reviews on this product and thought it would be mild enough to try, which I did. The first things I clarified convinced me of this product. I have three bolo ties that I designed for myself over thirty years ago. I haven't worn them for a long time as they are very faded. Two of them contain onyx and one contains turquoise. One of them also contained antiques. I didn't want to use anything so tough that it might damage stones, leather ties, or antiques all in one piece. What I found when using Wright's Silver Cream is that I was able to apply the cream with a soft but slightly textured cloth and then rub it in lightly. This removed all tarnish from the ends of all bindings and the design part of two without aging. For the third, I used the very soft sponge that comes with the kit and then just gently rubbed the surface of the design, leaving the aged in place. I applied the cream to the stones and to the skin and washed both off. no problem. He did not remove stones or paint from the leather. At the same time, the product warns against contact with eyes or skin. I wore cheap plastic gloves when working with him. I am very glad I found this product and will be using it for all my silver cleaning work in the future. I have a few other tricky items that require careful cleaning and I'm sure the above method will work for them too.
