They said I can't program it... ALTERNATIVE PROCESS DID

Looks and feels like the original. I bought this key fob for a 2008 Acura RDX. Two of the original key fobs had non-functioning buttons. I have successfully replaced an empty key with an old key. Along with the new key fob came a piece of paper with three links where I could find instructions on how to program the key fob. To my surprise, it said that there was no DIY programming for my machine and that I should go to a dealer or locksmith with the necessary equipment. Illusion! - I said and searched the Internet. All the procedures I found required running a given process 4 times and of course it didn't work on my computer. Then I found in the reviews (not sure if this keychain or another brand, and forgot to write the genius name, so if you are a hero reading this, thank you very much!) process option. I tried it and it worked on the first try. $$$ Saved So... the procedure to try when the regular key doesn't work: 1. Turn on the ignition with the old key, but don't start the car.2. Within 5 seconds, press and release the LOCK button on the new remote control.3. Turn the key to OFF.4. Repeat 3 more times BUT on the 4th, after pressing LOCK, DO NOT TURN THE KEY OFF; Instead, press UNLOCK TWICE, THEN PRESS UNLOCK5. Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it6. Open and close the door (you can leave or stay)7. TestHope works for those with problems; and thanks again to the original poster of the process. Note: Not all parts of the new key fob are the same as the old parts. The buttons are hollow and the mechanism is different. So you can't switch the buttons to your old key fob. The key has the same shape and can be exchanged.

Pros
  • This key can be programmed yourself, you can also find a locksmith/dealer to program it
Cons
  • Not bad but...
