These corner clamps are spring loaded and can only be tightened with spring force. However, they are easy to use and somewhat intuitive, but not accompanied by instructions. So I couldn't figure out how to do a 45 degree angle and there are extra pads in the kit but the explicit purpose isn't clear. You can clamp parts up to 1" thick and it will hold and level them quite well. Most suitable for things like picture frames, drawers and other similar sized items.
