I bought this card for my Ryzen 5 3600 B550 system which only has 2 USB 3.0 controllers (despite a whopping 8 3.0 ports). I still have the original Oculus Rift but with a 3x sensor for better tracking. I just had to move one of my sensors to this card for the Oculus software to make the connection happy (headset and 2 front sensors on USB 3.0, my rear sensor on 2.0). The card installed with no issues and booted into Windows 10. , no manual driver installation is required. I only had 2 minor disappointments with this card: 1) The included SATA power supplies (although reasonable for the price) use a parallel molded plastic form factor instead of a perpendicularly crimped wire. You can research for yourself how any wired connector can fail due to a bad contact/air gap, however this type of connector tends to fail in IMPRESSIVE ways with sparks, melted plastic and dead parts as a result. . I would suggest either plugging the SATA connector directly into a power source like I did, or getting another adapter just in case. 2) I am using the farthest sensor with a 10 m (32.8 ft) active extension cable from USB Cable Matters. On my other computer (Intel Z370 chipset), this cable could work passively with the breakage sensor, since the USB port on the mainboard actually supplies enough power. Unfortunately, I've found that my current AMD motherboard can't handle it. I was hoping this card (with its direct connection to my power supply) could handle that as well, but the sensor ended up throwing errors until I borrowed a phone charger to plug into the active cable. THIS IS NOT THE TYPE OF THIS USB ADAPTER (because that configuration is outside the spec for USB connections), but I was still hoping it would work. Windows never disconnects from the sensor now because I've plugged in an active extension cable, and I have no problem plugging in the sensor when the computer goes to sleep and wakes up. I give 5/5 stars because it does exactly what I need at a good price. I'm concerned about its durability based on other reviews, but it just needs to stay alive long enough before I break and upgrade my VR setup. Considering how much I spent on USB/HDMI extension cables than this adapter for my VR setup, that's a fantastic price.
