I bought these to connect my iTouch to a volume control on a motorcycle/stereo amp (it doesn't have a volume control). I immediately noticed that the stereo sound has become thinner. And after a few weeks the music started to disappear. I thought it was iTouch so I tried my iPhone and then my iPod. All the same problem. I replaced that brand of cable with a gold plated one I had on hand (it was a bit longer so I didn't use it initially). Bike/stereo turned on and WOW - the sound was amazing. Deep bass, clear mids and highs. No cutout. Be careful when you buy this cable - it sucks the sound out of everything you use.
