The battery socket included in this package is NOT SONY and will NOT work with this camera. Actually, it causes ALL KINDS of problems. I struggled with the operation of this camera for a month. This will randomly show popup menus. I had typos on my cards and LOST PHOTOS. Eventually I called Sony and spent an hour and a half with them. They were willing to bring my new camera in for repairs because they couldn't figure it out, so I had the brilliant idea of testing it without the battery. It worked well and Sony has confirmed that the base is not a Sony aftermarket part. When I looked up the correct part number on Revain, I found it cost $348! Part. The beach cam didn't work for me because I finally found out it was a problem after the 45 day warranty expired. SELLING PRODUCTS THAT ARE NOT REALLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE CAMERA IS NOT A GOOD DEAL, THEN TELL THE CUSTOMER GO. I take the time to post my review wherever possible so that this disappointment doesn't happen to anyone.
