These are fairly smooth silicone ice trays. If you prefer large chunks of ice, this ice tray is for you. And the fact that they're the same size is an even bigger plus. I have 2 of these big bad boys in my 30 oz. A cup of RTIC and it lasts most of the day, even with refills. PROS: Being silicone, from what I've read these types of bowls need support (in my opinion) and this one has it and is very well designed. The holder is strong and durable, with a lid that really works and does what it's designed to do. It is very compact and easily fits into even the smallest spaces in the freezer. Since it has a lid *and* a solid base, you can stack things on top of it, or place it on top of anything (as long as it lays flat). The lid prevents spills, but it's not completely airtight, so you won't want to flip it over. It makes very nice big square cubes, but if you're using a lot of ice you'll need 2 sets of these. CONS: This is my first experience with silicone ice molds, so I'm not sure if all silicone molds will fit. It's hard to get the ice out, or if it's just this model. Of course, if you leave it for 15-20 minutes, it's easier, but sometimes I don't have time for this and I urgently need to remove the ice from the shell. There were a few times I had to try and move the tray away from the cube and struggled to get it out of the tray, especially the corner pieces. The dice will not just pop out when you turn the tray upside down like traditional plastic trays do, you have to work on them to make them pop out. So not suitable for those with arthritis unless you have time to let it sit and melt for a bit before attempting to take the cubes out. That may be a little disappointing. Basically these shells have all the features I wanted in a silicone shell and they are well designed with high quality materials. The only thing I think they could do better is that the tray releases the dice more easily. I haven't tried using them to freeze anything else because I really like using them for ice cubes, but you can use them to freeze other things like baby food, desserts, making candy, etc. I looked at some of the other cheaper silicone ice molds and decided to spend a little more on a brand I'm familiar with due to its features that others don't have. And I'm glad I made that choice. Saving here would be a mistake. Just my 2 cents. ;-)
