Simple interface: touch the base to turn on the device, then touch the desired temperature. The selected temperature icon will flash and as the kettle heats up to lower temperatures the icons for those temperatures will change from dark to light. Once your temperature is reached the icon will stop flashing and remain solid and the kettle will emit 3 soft beeps. The teapot is beautiful and pleasant to the touch. Fits easily on the base; no effort to straighten it. The inside is almost completely smooth, a solid piece of stainless steel, save for a small temperature sensor. I only ever make 1 or 2 cups at a time so I'm glad it's only 1.5 liters and not 1.65 liters like many other kettles. If Zwilling updates the design, it would be even better if the lid opens 90 degrees unaided (just by pressing a button). Highly recommended.
