I won't comment on the sound, everyone has different preferences. What I'm saying is that for $25 this is a pretty decent deal. It's thin, I'd say about 1/8 inch, which is good because it doesn't change much the position of the record over the felt or anything other than a mat that keeps things where they need to be. The photos have a label cut-out on one side to prevent your record from floating on the label. Additionally, the diameter is just under 12 inches (I'd say 11.7-11.8 inches), so if you're trying to eject your record, there's just enough edge to grip so the cork doesn't lift up with the vinyl, a smart one design and if you need a cork rug to replace your felt or something to keep dust out this is excellent value for money. .
