Ten years ago I replaced my incandescent bulb with CFL. This resulted in a fourfold energy saving. I have now replaced the CFL bulbs with LEDs. LEDs save seven times as much as old incandescent lamps. The light is much nicer than the CFLs which were greenish. LEDs contain no mercury and last a long time. Anytime you can get 100 watts of light for only 14 watts of electricity, that's a good deal.
