Review on ADATA Ultimate SU650 120GB Solid State Drive SATA Ultimate SU650 120GB (retail) by Adam Woods ᠌

Disappointed with the purchase, useless products.

The laptop is used in fact as a fixed computer and is never moved. After working on the ssd for 3.5 months, I found that when accessed, the disk took a while to respond, and that when checked in victoria hdd, aida64, crystaldiskmark, and a-data tools, it showed an abnormal number of reassigned sectors (in less than a week, the indicators in attribute 5 increased from 330 to 12200), and that indicators in attributes 196 and 199, "attempt to reassign sectors," I removed the solid-state drive (SSD) and replaced it with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD, which is linked to the same connector as the SSD, displays no problems in the same properties despite having been used in the laptop for over 36,000 hours. After I reformatted it and reinstalled it as an external SSD drive, all except two problematic sectors vanished (these are also visible when scanning the disk's surface). Blue screens occur infrequently (after installing wine 7 64; system was set for 50 minutes, faster on hdd), although smart status is consistently positive and attribute growth has ceased for 05, 196, and 199. Slowness, heat, loudness, and the growth of qualities 5, 196, and 199 all returned within just three weeks of the reinstallation. I attempted to clone the operating system to a different solid-state drive (SSD), but the process kept failing with the same message: "The file system is damaged; please run Wine 7 to check for and correct any errors." Just as when you reboot, the process of checking the file system, finding any problems, and fixing them all begins again. Simultaneously, the smart status is good, with the ssd's health at 99% after only 3,000 hours of use. The ssd was examined by the service center, and it was decided to issue a refund.

Pros
  • Easy. Comfortable. It was simple to swap out the laptop's optical drive for a Lenovo B590 and use the system's native Seagate hard disk. Extended to three years, the warranty is solid. It goes without saying that ssd operates considerably faster than my antiquated hdd, but in my experience, it is less reliable.
Cons
  • After only 3.5 months of use, ssd occasionally froze when being accessed. Windows itself does not always start, and certain programs have suddenly stopped working; in some games, you can join the game, come to the start, and then nothing happens (reinstalled the system on the previous hdd, and all the same games, programs, and run as before). Temperatures started to rise to a comfortable 65 degrees (anything above 60 degrees is abnormal according to the programs) as the day progressed. Simultaneously, all applications exhibit a healthy smart status of ssd. After reinstalling wine 7 (as indicated in the remark), everything seemed to be fine again; however, after only three weeks, the same issues persisted: the indications in attributes 5, 196, and 199 grew, and the system fell regularly. After barely five months on the job, I turned over responsibility to the service center.
