Review on Salomon Women's Trail Running Shoes - Sense Ride 2 W by Melissa Parker

Bad quality, strange design

Interesting shoes. I love Salomon's speedcross shoes and was intrigued to find this hybrid road running shoe. I'm a long distance runner who loves trail and trail running and I was very happy to find this shoe that seemed to fit both (so I didn't have to buy 2 pairs). Pros: - super cute shoes! Goes well with everything. Excellent hold. Salomon plain laces are the best! The lace pocket is located under the laces, so it's actually almost impossible to get a snug fit and still tuck the laces in. Why such a strange design? - The laces/boots go up the foot too far, near the ankles and ankle in the front bend. it makes running incredibly uncomfortable when I take a step. If the laces were about half an inch lower this shoe would be better but it actually makes my foot numb at 5 miles. No bueno.- I'm not sure about the quality here. The foam padding on the outside of the shoe is pretty worn and I've only had them for 2 months and only use them for road so far. I don't think they will last at all. Disappointed with the quality. The toe box is CRAZY wide. I have too much slip when running. At higher speeds I feel unstable (compared to walking). I have medium wide feet, maybe even wider, but these are too wide for me! Unusual for Salomon trail shoes (which are usually narrow). If you're like me looking for a quality, durable hybrid trail/road running shoe, then this isn't it. If you're just looking for a nice shoe for everyday trails with good traction, then this is for you.
