HP Chromebook for Computers and Tablets

My husband is not computer savvy and only uses it for email, reading and printing pdfs, reading news and watching videos. I have a "real" computer for accounting, graphics and other hard work. His "laptop" was, so to speak, an inexpensive Windows model that could not be updated except for security updates. It was cheap and he was happy. But it slowed to a crawl. We have deleted files and unused applications, defragmented and so on, but time has passed. Since he has a Pixel phone, this Chromebook seemed like a great way to keep his world in sync in a way he couldn't before. (I remind you that he is not familiar with computers). And so far so good. Again, he's not computer savvy, so he didn't set up his Chromebook. But I think he CAN. It only took a few minutes, when he signed up with his Google email address, he understood all his needs and was ready to go. If I had given up I love this thing! It's fast. It's quiet because it has a solid state drive. The speaker quality is excellent. Screen images are clear. The touchpad is attentive. The standby battery lasts a week. He is light. And it's beautiful. You cannot download many expected applications. You are not in the Play Store. Facebook, Netflix, Hulu must be accessed through a web browser. That's fine, just visit the site once, log in and then mark it in your favorites bar. After that, every time open the browser, click, you are there. I was able to download Microsoft Word which my husband rarely uses but just in case why not. It's a mobile version of Word, not a complete program, but damn complete. For everyone in your world who doesn't particularly like tablets but prefers something with a keyboard (don't travel with an extra keyboard to take a tablet with you). ), is a simple, inexpensive, and elegant choice. I don't even need it and I want one for myself. But (sigh) it's time to pass this on to the husband. I'll let you know if we run into any problems, although I don't expect them. This is definitely a recommendation.
