I know the smell of hard rubber products but this smell is very different. rather chemistry. The odor was so strong that it washed out of the unopened shipping carton, requiring immediate removal outside. After over two weeks the smell is still fairly pervasive and I'm not going to bring it into my garage where it's supposed to be. Don't let your wife drive too far ahead. I think I will find some use outdoors, but I definitely do not recommend this product for indoor use. This product is made in China, so who knows the actual composition?
