I have used kitchen towels so far and finally broke down and ordered this as my kitchen towels were too thin to hold the moulds. The clothes took a while to recharge, the first time I used them my bread stuck to them a bit. After flouring it properly, I had no problems with sticking. I've used it for both baguettes and ciabatta. Similar to how I handle my bannetons, I don't wash them with water at all, otherwise I'll have to refill them. Instead, I sprinkle on excess flour and shake it off. If pieces of dough are stuck, I let them dry completely and just shake them off after they've set. After drying and removing most of the flour, I save it.
