I ordered medium first because the info and reviews said it fits US sizing as expected and I'm 5ft 6in, 140lbs . and I'm a size 8 but although I liked the coat the middle one was too tight. I'll be using it primarily for travel so I'll probably have some clothes underneath. Even with nothing underneath, it was very tight. through the chest. I sent it back and ordered a large one. It fits perfectly, although the waistband is very long - I don't know why - and I can wear the coat alone or with a sweater or jacket underneath. I love the shiny feel of it, it looks great even in the rain. And that's why I love Revain - their generous return policy!
