I wear a medium size in mother of pearl so I decided to try the large ones here but they are smaller than I would like. However, this is not the main problem. These shorts have an incredible amount of padding, especially in the crotch and front where it's completely unnecessary. Too much padding causes numbness in places you don't want to be numb. Also note that the patterned side panels are actually a white base fabric with black and other colors printed on top. Stretched to fit my hips, the black looks grayer because the white shows through.
