I have lived with a 'Service Tire Monitoring System' every key cycle on my 2004 Chevrolet since I bought it used 4 years ago. System checked, everything pointed to the sensors. Knowing that batteries are rated to last about 10 years I figured it was an easy fix. Then I started buying sensors. OEM parts cost me 10% of what I paid for the truck! Obviously, in the few model years that this system was in service, the volume didn't justify the investment aftermarket suppliers had to make for a replacement. Since I didn't drive that much truck I didn't fix it and kept an eye on the market for an affordable solution. A few years later I found her. No, I'm not giving up easily. Sensors arrived quickly and well packaged. Each was individually wrapped and then packed in a sturdy cardboard box. The next task was to find a local shop that would install them for me at an affordable price. It finally worked today. Now they are installed. According to the tire fitter, they fit perfectly and he was able to program them onto the truck in no time. No more service calls and more comfort knowing the system is working and I know if there is a problem with the tyre. I don't have any information on durability or lifespan yet, but if something goes wrong with them I'll definitely update this review.
