Review on ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ Casio Men's GA1000 Gravity Master G-Shock Aviation Watch: Unparalleled Precision and Durability by Dionne Powers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceeded my basic requirements.

My requirements for this watch were 1.) quick readability of analog time, especially when bumped while driving, 2.) decent brightness in low light, 3.) the watch's LED backlight when pressed , should give full illumination of the analog surfaces. I didn't need to read the date and time at night, so I didn't want to look at those displays. After a few weeks of wearing this watch is GREAT for my basic needs. I was looking for a replacement for my Luminox which had been in use for 30 years as tritium had passed some half lives and was very weak. After a lot of research, this G-Shock turned out to be a good choice! At first I was hesitant as other pilot's watches were much more expensive. I am very happy with this watch. I can quickly calculate and keep track of Zulu time, so a more expensive clock was out of the question for this type of math. A quick glance at analog time is aided by a curved glass dial. Most of the time you can read without turning the dial towards your eyes. This way you can keep your left hand on the task. The luminosity is better than I expected. The half-life of lumen retention is very good after changing from dim light to darkness after ambient light or pressing the watch's light button. The watch's "backlight" button is easy to push into Nomex or tactical gloves (Mechanix). When pressed, the numbers 9,12,3 and the second hand light up very light green. Also, each hour marker glows blue. The clock is set to 1 second LED light, which I think is the standard duration, which is more than enough. Once the light completes its timed cycle, the bright glow resumes for many minutes. The time can be easily checked. This clock presents no problem getting hours, minutes, seconds at night without glowing like a reading lamp all night. I have a 7" wrist and the watch size is not a problem. They are very light. The strap is very comfortable and has two pins in the clasp for double holes in the watch strap. Very reliable. Check out other review posts for this watch, as one picture has a 0.25 cent piece on the face to show the size of the watch. Great picture for comparison. As for the other functions I haven't used: I have other tools, the temperature, compass , provide price indication etc. I am VERY satisfied and I hope that with this purchase anyone who has doubts about this watch will benefit from my experience and input Take care of your six, stay healthy, enjoy the day!
