eyes are made "far away" and thus "readers" are needed for close-up work. I have pre-ordered the 1.0 model of these items and am hoping after only 1/2 day of use they will not break down on shots because by the time the dilation wears off I can already see my distance vision - lets say HD flat screen at around 8-10 Foot - my vision in both eyes is almost as clear as my (now) 20/20 vision in both eyes with my new IOLs. And yes, the "multi-focus" idea works, although my current surgical dilations are wearing off, in the sense that my near vision is clear to about 2-1/2 feet and beyond to the TV. Im impressed and use my laptop on the arm of my chair to surf the internet like the rest of us and you can watch tv and work closer (not REALLY close like 1 or 2 feet away) - work close for ease of sight . Note: the furthest focus is at the top of the lens and with the 1.0m magnet I ordered there is little magnification at the top of the lens. Below are the requirements for Focus 2.0. A good product. If the glasses break I would consider buying 2 more pairs until I get tired of changing them or buying prescription trifocals to make life easier. I wear this one pair of glasses all the time. I would like to add that now as of September 19th, having fully recovered from the cat surgery, I can read to a foot away with one of these multifocal glasses; and for "far" I can see clearly up to a distance of more than ten feet. In addition, there is a slight increase, for example when driving a car I don't put anything on my eyes, except maybe a pair of simple sunglasses; closer than a foot? I use 2.0 or even 2.5 for very tight work. Good product! Second Update: Uh oh! Now 22 Sep 18 suddenly grinding? began to move away from the framework, as described in many previous reviews. I will be buying two more pairs and if quality control doesn't improve for this subsequent purchase I will be looking at other brands. I LOVE these multifocals as technically they work great but if the loops keep breaking I would recommend avoiding them. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.
