Review on πŸ”§ 27 Piece Universal Press and Pull Sleeve Kit Bush Bearing Removal and Insertion Tool Set from WINTOOLS by Kelly Sadiq

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The set is big, heavy, good quality!

I took a chance because there were no reviews and I had never heard of this brand. However, the photos looked identical to another set listed under a different brand that was about $10 more expensive and had good reviews. I'm glad I took the risk because it's awesome! The set is much larger and heavier than I expected. It came in a very heavy box, and inside that box was another box. Inside that box was another box. Then, after opening 3 layers of boxes, I pulled out the kit. The storage box is better quality than I expected and looks like it should last a long time. The set in the case is much heavier than I expected. The bearings attached to the nuts were already lightly greased and the threaded shafts also had a light film of oil. Everything seemed to be precisely finished and assembled as expected. All parts fit perfectly in the storage box. Yesterday I received the kit and today I started removing and installing the control arm bushings on my Audi. It worked great. Removal was much easier with an impact wrench, it would have been difficult to do it by hand with wrenches. However, I was able to hand press in new bushings with just a couple of wrenches. My old bushings stuck in it quite snugly and I used a medium-torque Milwaukee punch to pry them out. I half expected some part of the kit to break, be it a threaded rod, bearing or something, but it held up great even with an impact wrench. From what I've seen in this tool, this is what I expect. for life as a hobby mechanic/weekend mechanic. Some of my photos show the Junior Mints large cinema size for size reference. This kit is big and heavy! Edit 12/17/2018: I have found that this kit cannot move the largest front suspension bushes on my car (2003 Audi A4). My punch knocked it off for a full minute while the sleeve didn't move at all. It might have worked if I'd had a more powerful impact wrench, but rather than take the risk I went ahead and bought a cheap 12 ton hydraulic press that got the job done with no problems. I've still used the bushing cups from that hydraulic press kit and they've held up well. So be aware that this may or may not work depending on the size of your bushings and the power of your impact wrench. It will easily handle smaller jacks, but larger jacks may not be able to go anywhere. However, it's still worth buying as it's pretty cheap and you can use hydraulic press cups if you need to. Considering the price of this kit, a hydraulic press, and even a high torque impact wrench if I bought one, I saved a lot of money by doing this job on my machine myself. The store offered me nearly $2,000 for the job, so this kit could easily pay for itself with a one-time use.
