I have been going for a walk every day for over twenty years. I appreciate a small battery operated radio to add a little spice to a sometimes dreary routine. My rural lifestyle and poor reception became a problem. It was tedious holding the radio in your hands and constantly changing direction to look for sounds. This radio is small, light and easy to use. Its reception, while not excellent or static-free, is better than previous radios. I still have to check for reception when walking, but this is a real improvement. A major disadvantage is the very poor battery life. The battery sounded good, but once fully charged it lasted less than 2 1/2 hours before being dead as a rock. Apart from the big minus of the battery, I would buy it again based on the reception.
