The concept is good. The base is constructed from a single piece of durable vinyl that is 4 inches wide by 12-14 inches long. The part facing the front of the car where you should put your purse has a 4 inch high piece of mesh that forms a sort of pocket that your purse should sit in. If you have a big or thick bag or are a person who carries many things in their purse, this mesh front just straightens up when you put your purse in it. If it were all mesh with a reinforced opening that had a strong elastic band and would just slide over your console cover and hold it in place, with straps that would go through the headrest bars, that would be a much better design what It's better than nothing and I think it's ok for the price.
