This is an extremely well built stool and very sturdy. Despite the industrial-look it is also very beautiful. The only thing I can see happening to this stool is if a 500 pound Gorilla decides to use it as it's favorite chair. It is that well built.I'm using it for my "Man-Cave", right in front of my very expensive stereo equipment. I also plan to use it a Posing Stool to take 3/4 and head-and-shoulder portraits for my Photography business.The stool was very easy to assemble. I think it took me a little less than 10 minutes to assemble. For someone not accustomed to putting furniture together, the instructions that came with it are very vague. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.
