Cute lantern for night trips. Keep in mind that they are quite small. So if your dog has a big ruff the light won't show up very well because it's almost covered in fur lol. I have a Golden Retriever and I'm sure the light will hit a short haired dog like a Labrador Retriever but the hair on his neck is quite thick so night light is harder to see. However, I really like the light and it's great for something small and unobtrusive but functional. They hang quite far from the collar so I don't recommend them for small dogs as the light can touch the water in the bowl if they lean forward.
