Just installed a new valve cover on my 2.5L Jetta. Check engine light code P2279 came on - air intake system leak, bank 1. The gasket on my old valve cover was so bad that oil was getting into the spark plug area. Installation was pretty easy - I spent most of my time on it. Cleaning and draining oil from spark plug wells. The bolts holding the valve cover in place are all T30. I've also included a torque spec/tightening chart for those wanting to do it themselves. I suggest replacing the N80 purge valve as well while making the valve cover as you will be working in the same area. Trust me it will run out eventually, it's a cheap and easy fix. do it now! I've been driving the car for a few weeks now. so far so good, good idle, etc. Definitely a buy recommendation if you don't want to waste the OEM price at the dealer.
