We have friction hinges on our camper door but they still won't stay open on windy days. I bought a couple of these and installed a couple at the bottom of the door and they didn't even stay connected. So I took the magnets from another pair and duplicated them on set. The hold is still not very strong, but at least they stay connected when the door is open. If this still turns out to be not strong enough I will try to find a stronger set of magnets for mounting in cases. I want them to state how many pounds the magnets attract so I have a starting point for stronger magnets.
