I wanted to use circuit breakers instead of fuses on my solar backup system. I will be using these as switches for my solar panels (my charge controller states that the panels must be turned off before battery power is disconnected where I have another switch). DC breakers are different from the AC breakers you can find at Lowes/Home Depot (nor are they sold). The DC current is continuous and if you try to use a regular switch or circuit breaker an arc can occur between the internal contacts. This is bad! You will ruin the AC circuit breaker and this can result in an electric shock as there is still current in the circuit. (With AC, the voltage drops to zero every cycle, interrupting the arc.) The only thing I did wrong was to buy them when there are much cheaper and higher voltage levels at dozens of other online solar cell shops. . They are mainly designed for boats and for mounting boat boards. But I can still use them for my purposes.
