We have just adopted a 13 lb dog - a little boy. First we bought one of those woven collars with a plastic clasp. Our dog's collar was so wide that it looked very uncomfortable. So I looked for a thinner collar and found this one. I followed the directions, measured his neck and added an inch. This collar turned out to be too big, so we made an extra hole in it. But at the same time, a long end stuck out that could hold on to things. Of course we couldn't return it because we changed it, but we liked it so much that we bought the same thing in the next smaller size and it fits perfectly. It's comfortable and looks so cute! I love the color turquoise! As a side note, I wouldn't feel safe walking him on a leash with just that collar on. I'm pretty sure he could slip out of there if he tried. We hang it in a harness to go.
