I've never been a fan of shiny black plastic finishes because they scratch, show fingerprints and show a lot of dust. This stainless steel console cover solves all these problems and looks good too (see photos of the 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring). It is tailored to fit and easy to assemble. I was surprised and pleased that it is metal rather than plastic which should increase its durability over time. It goes well with the existing silver finish. I didn't buy a suitable cover for the area around the handles and the parking brake switch because the black plastic is matt and therefore not necessary. The only downside: adhesive strips. hold except at the four corners. It stays in place well, but I expected the entire lid to stick securely. The lid is still attached, but now that edge moves when I press on it. I expected more after such a short time. However, it looks better than glossy black. So I lowered my rating from 4 to 3 stars.
