REVIEW: I have two Inkbird temp controllers and they are very good value for money. My biggest comment about Inkbird is that the features and variations of the different Inkbird models are difficult to understand, especially on Amazon offerings. There are more details on the web, but it's still hard to figure out what each model does and doesn't do, which have alarms, which have different time settings, etc. They have different models with different options, and it's worth the time. to make sure you get what you need. Also, I've noticed that there are some newer models (it's early 2019 as of this writing) that look better than their original controllers. They probably work the same way, but have been designed to look like they're meant for a living room rather than a greenhouse. I just bought a 306 to use as an emergency aquarium heater. I already have a 308S for another aquarium. I prefer the 308 to 306 for several reasons: 1 - 306 is a little gritty and sometimes clicks when turned on or off (the 308S is quieter and works better overall). 2 - The 306 seems to run for 10 minutes or more without changing the temp reading (when I know the temp is changing), then quickly updates a few times within a few seconds, and then doesn't change again for 10-15 minutes. It's not a huge issue for my use, but the 308S always seems to get corrected fairly often and I was expecting the 306 to be similar. The 306 has a feature that I don't have installed but is worth mentioning. Different time based settings are a great feature when using it for reptiles. Overall, I'm impressed with what Inkbird products can do for the price. . The instructions are a little hard to follow, but they try to cram a lot of settings into a few buttons, and setting multiple temperature points and ranges can be tricky. Add different settings for different times and high and low alarms on 308 and I think given the complexity of their function the buttons and instructions are pretty good.
