Everyone installs them differently, I cut a hole in the dash just big enough for the back of the switch to slide in. It has a locking clip so it clicks into place when inserted and doesn't easily slip out, and the outer bezel is large enough to keep it looking clean. The quality of the switch is pretty good for the price, it doesn't look cheap. The green light inside doesn't glare at night, depending on where you mount it I imagine it will be a little hard to see during the day. They provided installation wires and made the installation easy. I have used many different switches and this one is honestly one of my top 10 favorite brands.
