Review on QQH Z12 Portable Monitor, 15.6-inch 1920x1080P, 60Hz, HD, External Computer Display by Peter Massey

Portable. Good resolution. Protective case/stand.

This 15.6-inch QQH portable display is great if you can use a smaller second monitor or if you need a portable second display. The resolution is clear and good. It's a great complement to a larger monitor when space is limited or you don't need a full second display. I am currently using it with my large 27 inch gaming monitor. This gives me a little more room to turn on the audio mixer and music while the game takes up a large monitor, or leave the map open while playing without sacrificing screen real estate. The lid has a dual purpose. It protects the monitor when it needs to be stowed in a laptop bag or bag and doubles as a display stand. It's great and disappointing at the same time. The case stays on the monitor during transport, which is great, but as a stand it only gives you a few angles. A built-in stand, like some portable monitors, gives you more flexibility. It's kind of a minor thing that doesn't affect everyone, but I noticed because another portable monitor I have has a built-in stand but no lid. When I use it on my desk at home, the lid used as a stand limits the way I can set up this display. So each style is a plus or minus depending on your needs and preferences. There are built-in speakers, but they leave a lot to be desired as most laptops, tablets, and even smartphones these days have pretty decent sound quality. You can adjust volume and mute in settings, but I'd rather skip using audio on this display. I'd rather see the manufacturer ditch the built-in audio and give me some small weight and price savings. The display comes with the cables you need (2 x USB-C and 1 x mini-HDMI) to connect it to your device and power the display. If you're using USB-C and your device can power the monitor through USB-C, you don't need to connect the display to an external power supply through the second USB-C port. If you use a mini HMDI, you need additional power supply via USB-C. Overall the build quality seems pretty good and the lid is good, but the lid as a stand might not be ideal for everyone. A small monitor like this is handy because it can be used in a compact configuration and is easy to carry.
