These steps have been a huge hit with my 4 and 2 year old. As soon as I laid them out, they ran over and started playing. The stones are made of a flexible silicone material. They are slightly larger than an adult hand, which was the perfect size for two children's feet. The silicone feels pretty hard. Unfortunately, it attracted dirt from our (not very clean) floors like a magnet. After a few hours they had to be washed off. However, they wash out very easily. We tried them indoors on laminate flooring where they worked well. Sometimes they slipped a little when the kids jumped hard, but never so far that the kid lost his balance. We also tried them outdoors on grass where they stayed in place and didn't slip. All in all we had a lot of fun with something so simple and portable. And I love how easy they were to clean!
