This saved my friend from having to get a whole new TV. He does however have a very, VERY old Sony projection TV that was capable of 720p. There were no HDMI ports on the TV, so this adapter was needed to allow new devices to plug into the TV via Composite. The first device we tried was was the newest Spectrum Cable TV tuner/DVR. This did not work. I don't know if Spectrum deliberately disallowed the adapter from working properly, or it was just poor programming on Spectrums part. It kept trying to go to 1080p even after we manually set it to 720p, but we could never get it to work. We then tried a Roku 4k stick and this worked great with this adapter. We were able to use this to watch and tune to Spectrum TV channels as well as watch Netflix via Roku on a TV that came out decades before.
