This charger is not compatible with round vents, it will stay but will vibrate a lot. The clip is very strong and well made, but more suitable for a straight narrow hole. I have a Honda Insight and I don't have a flat surface to stick the tape mount to the curved dashboard. The sensor activates randomly, causing the levers to open and close. If your phone isn't tilted enough, it will keep falling out of the charger. The mid-section curves, probably due to the heat as I live in southern Arizona, so now it doesn't stay smooth and doesn't charge very well. I don't even try to use it as a charger anymore, I unplugged it and just used it as a phone mount and plugged my phone in to charge. Review written after a month of use.
