The mount is solid and well designed. For the second time there were problems with the electronic controls. I had an invalid packet loader error 0020. The manual didn't help! There have been many articles on the internet addressing a problem that Celestron could have prevented in the first place. The device was shipped with outdated hand control software. Downloading and installing software was not an easy task. You need to download the zip file from the Celestron website and make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer. You can't do that with an XP machine either, and you need a serial-to-USB adapter, which isn't included. The unit comes with an 11 lb 5 inch counterweight. Too big and too big. Two smaller charges would have been better. To solve this problem, I ordered a 7.5 lb Orion 7384 counterweight. No built-in GPS. So far there are no problems. Be careful when screwing in the power cord. The adapter on the scope rotates. so it doesn't fall, but not tight. This made polar alignment as easy as possible. MARVELOUS! Read the "Polar Alignment Using Manual Controls" section of the manual a few times. You'll wonder why this hasn't been done with adapter mounts before.
