I bought this for someone who lives in an apartment that is mostly underground in an apartment building. The walls are a big problem for the Sp****um modem/router's WiFi signal in his living room. I mapped it to Wi-Fi using my laptop and noticed significant signal attenuation when I was out of sight of the modem/router and further attenuation when I walked through a door into another room. This card is a great solution. The antennas are "outdoors" and not below behind his PC tower. It gets "excellent" signal strength in the same spot my laptop got a "good" signal (at best). There are other technical reasons for the difference in signals, but overall this card does what it takes to give your PC a great WiFi connection in this environment.
