I used to have cheap shredders and they always got hot and stalled or failed but I was able to unlock them and let them run until about a year later Three of them wouldn't turn off. died, leaving me without a shredder for several years. This time I decided to spend some money and buy one of those durable bonsai shredders with a cooling fan. I chose the C149 because it seemed like the right price/performance ratio for my light home use. Wow. This thing doesn't heat up or stop. I'm sick of grinding long before he's sick of eating paper. It doesn't take long for the bin to be filled and then I head to the recycling plant. I've only had it two days so it might just be my honeymoon, but at least I don't regret spending the extra money on a stupid paper shredder.
