I was skeptical but wow I'm happy with the purchase. I bought 4 sets to install in our new house. These are inexpensive speakers that sound really good! They're loud enough and have decent range for a cheap in-ceiling speaker. I'm cheap so I only use 1 speaker per room. In this configuration they sound good. They're just as good, if not better, and about half the price of the speakers I installed in my last house. Yes there were no issues installing it and the build quality was much better but to be honest these sound better than the old ones! First of all, be very careful during installation! If you follow these instructions you shouldn't have any problems with the mount, otherwise you're likely to break every mount and really get frustrated with your speakers. 1a/3a. OPTIONAL: I highly recommend buying small washers about 3/8" in diameter to match the screw. If you are very worried about how they will look after installation, you can paint your washing machine black. I didn't see any silver discs, and unless you examine the ceiling closely you won't notice any silver discs (homemade discs made from an old piece of metal I had lying around, drilled with a drill and cut with metal snips). Unpack the speakers.2. Grab your favorite drill or screwdriver (I'll refer to it as a screwdriver from now on to avoid confusion). 3b. Remove the screws one by one and put a washer on the screw.4. Insert the white flip clip and start screwing in the screw with the screwdriver. After launch, carefully align the toggle clamp so it easily retracts into the guide. Keep tightening the screw and keep an eye on the clip to make sure it doesn't stick to the edges. If it binds, stop tightening immediately and fold it back or the brittle plastic will break. You may have to turn the propeller back and forth a bit to get it moving on the track. In my experience he was able to walk all the way once he started the track. After the clamp is lowered on the rail, after tightening the screw, turn the screwdriver so that the clamp moves up the rail again. Stop as soon as he goes over the edge and turns off the track. Repeat the screwing and unscrewing one more time, making sure that the screw does not bind the first time you screw it in when tightening the screw. After the clamp has lowered and raised twice, loosen the screw until it comes out of the guide again. If done correctly, the clip will have a slight tension and will stay in place when you tilt the speaker.6. Repeat each step with all fasteners. You can use one speaker at a time, or unwrap them all and you're done. I made each one before installing it in the ceiling.7. Using the template as a guide, cut the holes, connect the speaker wires, press the speaker into place and tighten the screw that rotates the clip into place.8. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the screw! If you overtighten, the chain guide will break at the base, rendering the attachment point useless. If you did not decide to install washers, you can easily pull the screw out through the hole, which means the yoke will not work. It was easier for me to use shims and adjust the drill for a very light grip. The density is too dense, which is what we're going to do here, enough to pull the speaker to the ceiling and no more. I would buy them again. ** If you found this review helpful, please mark it as helpful by clicking "Yes" below.**
