The ring itself is very beautiful and if you don't care what type of stone it is then it is very valuable. I bought the ring on purpose because it was listed as "handmade emerald". It had to be a lab-created emerald that was chemically and geologically identical to natural emerald aside from its perfect clarity, lack of inclusions, and cheap price. I checked it with a thermal diffusion tester which showed it was glass. I checked the calibration and tested it several times to be sure. I returned it for a refund. The 925 sterling silver ring turned out to be non-magnetic so I assumed it was real sterling silver.
