I found that a pair of these lights was enough - I could drive through the desert at night as fast as I wanted. At 65mph I could see a few seconds ahead in optimal conditions - plenty of time to react. One of mine was broken. The packaging is great so it's not the same. One was perfect and the other looked like it had fallen off the assembly line and been kicked. Very deep scratches on the back revealing bare metal. I have black spray paint, but getting a 'new' damaged product is no fun. They are very heavy. This was my first experience with off-road lighting and to be honest it shocked me. The car headlight assembly weighs about a pound. Holding one of these lanterns is like holding a small bowling ball. The reviews talk about device failures, so I bought my own before installing. I think the problem is the poor portability of the mount and the mount. You have to pull the crap out of the bolt to bend the strut so it's snug enough on the mount. And they're so damn heavy you REALLY have to overtighten that screw or they'll sag. I want to mount them vertically. They are equipped with side threaded holes for vertical mounting. Auxbeam makes vertical mounts that are perfect for this light. I contacted Auxbeam but they don't sell them to me.
