I have tested with four new power supplies including EVGA Gold 1000W and Seasonic Platinum 1000W and all four do not work under full load. I figured it might be my cords, but after an hour of fiddling, I just couldn't get them to turn on the extra power. I ended up just using the jumper block that EVGA ships with their power supply and ordering add2psu for now to have a more reliable switch (although they were expensive). I didn't notice anything on the connectors or pins, but you can feel them. Quite cheap. At least it didn't mess up my phone in any way, or at least one of the power adapters. i give it back
