I purchased this for denitrification purposes and after using the entire bottle in my 54 gallon tank with lava rocks, 2 large bio rocks and 3 months later no difference in nitrate reduction. . I think you need a good source of carbon to feed the bacteria or you won't get any results. I've also had homemade organic media in my filter for over 2 years and nothing! I don't overfeed or overfeed. It comes down to providing a food source for results!
