I only started painting with diamonds a few weeks ago and have been using the regular pens that come in the kits. I thought they did a good job but my hand started to cramp and the sharp edges on it hurt my finger. I saw videos of people using this type and wanted to try it. It's much more comfortable and I can use it for longer without cramping or pain. The only thing is that it doesn't seem to last drillers as long as the other guy. I have no idea what could be causing this, but ease of use is more important to me than accidentally dropping the drill. I am satisfied with this item.
